What makes a ‘True View Virtual Tour’ special?

Uninterrupted View

  1. Up to 30 raw images from a Nikon Digital SLR are stitched together using state of the art techniques and software to create a full spherical panorama.
  2. Even the tripod is carefully edited out from the final scene.
  3. The resulting image is then converted to a QuickTime Virtual Reality (QTVR) Tour which enables the user to interact easily with the scene.

Ultra High Resolution

  1. For convenience the web QTVR Tours are kept to a respectable maximum size of around 1 Mb.
  2. The final raw image is often larger than 100Mb.This size of image will resolve very fine detail. It is perfect for large print or can be distributed in other formats like CD/DVD presentations.

High Dynamic Range (HDR)

  1. HDR is best described as the ratio between the brightest and darkest parts of a scene.
  2. Many of the scenes captured with 360 panoramas have a Dynamic Range well beyond the capabilities of any given camera.
  3. To compensate for this, we may shoot multiple exposures of the same scene and then blend together these images to maintain as much detail as possible in the shadows and highlights.
  4. With HDR processing

    Without HDR processing

(Notice the loss of detail – especially in the highlights, without HDR processing.)
